Dubai secured an astounding 175 bids to host events in the first half of 2024, marking a 24% increase compared to the same period last year. These wins are anticipated to attract over 92,000 delegates, significantly boosting the number of attendees for business events in the coming years.
These successful bids will enable Dubai to host numerous prestigious international conferences, congresses, and incentive meetings extending into 2028. This achievement spans various sectors and underscores the vital role of business events in the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. This agenda aims to double Dubai’s economy by 2033, reinforcing its status as one of the world’s top three cities to visit, live, and work in.
Dubai Business Events (DBE), a division of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and the city’s official convention bureau, collaborated with stakeholders and industry experts, including Al Safeer Congress Ambassadors, to secure these prominent business events. In addition to these successful bids, Dubai has garnered further global recognition for its standing as a leading business events hub. The International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) ranked Dubai as the top city in the Middle East for the number of association meetings hosted in 2023, while Cvent named it the number one destination in its ‘Top Meeting Destinations in the Middle East and Africa’ list.
